Płock Zoological Garden
The Płock ZOO is situated on the beautiful and picturesque area of 10 hectares, and is one of the 23 Polish zoological gardens.
The natural surroundings of the Vistula bank create perfect conditions for the breeding of wild animals, including the rarest species presented in only a few zoological gardens. The Płock Zoological Garden currently boasts over 300 animal species, including many rare and precious animals obtained thanks to programmes devoted to endangered species.
The Płock ZOO has one of the largest collections of reptiles in Polish zoological gardens, as well as seawater and freshwater aquariums.
In May 2014 the female Mississippi alligator Marta, the oldest animal of all European zoological gardens, turned 84. We are pleased to inform you that on this day the Training and Conference Centre Hotel Herman**** adopted the animal during an official ceremony. It was Marta who played the role of the Herman crocodile in the Polish cult film “Hydrozagadka”.
